Maricruz’s Surrogacy Story

Life is what happens when you’re busy making plans! Maricruz was settled in to rest for the last week of her sibling journey until her scheduled c-section, but the baby girl had other plans! In the early hours of June 18, 2022 she was surprised by her water breaking and she delivered just a few short hours later. Congratulations to Maricruz on becoming a successful surrogate! We are so proud of you and how wonderfully you handled every step of this journey.

Her intended parents are in awe of their precious baby girl and we are humbled to see their dreams come true!

June Bio of the Month

You may recall Annette’s first surrogacy journey in the height of the Covid 19 Pandemic. Although she was on bedrest in the hospital for the last several weeks of her pregnancy, she never lost her infectious smile! Once the baby arrived, travel restrictions kept her IP’s from coming for their baby. She spent her very limited free time as a working single mother of three visiting her surrobabe and updating her IP’s on his status. She was overjoyed when baby was finally with his family! Amazingly, this situation only made her MORE willing to come back for a second journey. She says, “the best thing I ever did was become a successful surrogate.”

Keep an eye out for her upcoming birth story! We could not be more thankful to be on this journey with her again!

Kristal’s Surrogacy Story

This birth story is twice as nice! On June 3, 2022 GC, Kristal, delivered TWO beautiful baby boys for her ecstatic Intended Parents. Kristal’s delivery was a planned cesarean. She arrived at the hospital ready to go at around 8:00am and before 11:00am, Mom was able to join her and the boys in recovery. Thankfully, despite current restrictions the amazing nurses on staff made an exception that allowed Dad to join them as well.

Up until the moment Mom and Dad held their precious boys they were still cautiously excited. Seeing that realization of a long awaited dream and knowing that she had had a part in it was by far the most spectacular moment of Kristal’s journey. She said experiencing that special moment with the boys and their parents was the moment that reaffirmed her decision to become a surrogate.

Every surrogacy story has beauty, but the journeys where we literally see two families merge are our favorite!

Dr. Rad News & Views : The Power of Manifestation

The world is full of opportunities and change; the power to manifest that opportunity or change is within us. The combination of the human spirit along with our actions, decisions, and free will in each matter creates our POWER. We are in control of what we do as well as our decisions regarding which path to take that leads to the manifestation of our future. We alone are in control of our own thoughts, desires, feelings, behaviors, and needs. I always say, if you are able to truly imagine it, feel it and visualize it…you are able to manifest it.
Do you feel a but coming? I want to get pregnant, but it hasn’t happened yet. I hope to meet the perfect mate, but don’t know where to find him/her. I want to change jobs, but I’m not sure if it is the right time or if I will find something better. But, but, but……
Hear me out. First and foremost, we must work to be present, in each and every moment, while envisioning the future and truly sitting or being in what it will feel like when our future goal becomes a reality…that sounds tricky, right? It is a balancing act of planning for the future while simultaneously experiencing the moment, and reminding ourselves to stay grounded in our body, mind, and spirit. Truly experiencing each moment is the act of being present and this is vital to manifesting our goals and memories that contain our life’s tapestry.
The important thing to realize is that once you have identified your goal, getting there may require some thinking outside of the box. When you decided to have children, you may or may not have known you would need the help of a Surrogate Mother. Making that determination may have taken months or even years. And then you had to choose the right clinic, the right agency, and so on. This time has taken a toll so it is incredibly important to not let the negative thoughts be your focus. If you dwell on the potential bad outcomes then that energy is what you are putting forth and it can be damaging not only to your mental and physical wellbeing but can also attract more negative energy your way. To combat this we must practice shutting out the negative, the depressing, and the anxiety-inducing thoughts in order to not manifest the wrong things by mistake. Practice envisioning yourself in the future you wish to create, instead. Do not merely wish for good things, practice imagining your life where those outcomes have already been successful. While you are experiencing the moment you are in remember to think with the mentality that success is yours. Even if the path to getting there isn’t what you had originally imagined, know that taking another path to this outcome is not the result of failure, rather succeeding at being open and manifesting your desires at any cost.
When you are ready to focus, I want you to do this. Sit with your feet touching the ground, deep breathing techniques, inhale slowly on the count of 4 & exhale even slower on the count of 7. Focus during this breathing on what you see around you, feel the breath in your body, hear what is around you, smell the scent of the place you are sitting; the newly cut grass etc…focus on the movement of your chest/abdomen as you breathe. Grounding ourselves using our 5 senses or self-talk & reminding ourselves that this is the only moment that truly exists is a powerful force toward peace, serenity and joy!
Sending you lots of loving kindness & positive vibes to stay present in this moment today!
Yours truly,
Dr. Rad

May Bio of the Month

This beautiful mother of five just completed her final surrogacy journey. Read her birth story here (https://www.buildingfamiliesinc.com/en/2022/04/yolandas-surrogacy-story/). When she is not working or supporting one of her children in their various activities you can find her brushing up (no pun intended) on her makeup skills! She loves to spread beauty wherever she goes and would love to one day be a full time makeup artist.

Yolanda feels that her greatest achievement in life is her children and to be able to share that joy with two additional families has been such a blessing. To know Yolanda and her family is to love them! We are overjoyed to have them as a part of the BFI family!

Annette’s Surrogacy Story

Hooray! Annette has completed her second surrogacy journey!

On May 6, 2022 she delivered a healthy, seven pound thirteen ounce baby boy to her wonderful intended parents. She was incredibly grateful to have her IP’s here when she delivered as this was not the case during her first surrogacy journey due to the Covid 19 pandemic. Her International Intended Parents came earlier than initially expected to explore California and spend time with her ahead of her due date. Thankfully they did since Annette ended up delivering two weeks early!

Annette was a joy from start to finish on both of our journeys and we are grateful to have her as a part of our BFI family!! Congratulations to her and her couple!

Yolanda’s Surrogacy Story

Love at first sight…that’s how GC Yolanda describes her first in person meeting with her Intended Parents. Because her IP’s are located in London, they built their relationship through online communication. They are a true testament to the value of virtual connection.

This wasn’t Yolanda’s first pregnancy, nor her first surrogacy journey, but she says that it felt like she was going through it all for the first time. It wasn’t an easy pregnancy and delivery didn’t fit the narrative. She had a Friday afternoon NST that her couple joined her for and they were planning to head to a dinner out with her family. Baby boy had a plan of his own though! The next twenty-four hours found Yolanda induced and her IP’s anxiously awaiting his arrival. On 4:54pm on April 30, 2022, 7lbs 2oz and 19 inches of perfection arrived into daddies’ waiting arms. Yolanda says that seeing her IP’s hold their baby was the highlight of her journey and worth every second of pregnancy and labor. She says “if I could have five, ten more babies for them I would, but my body just doesn’t want to work with my heart on this one!”

This may have been Yolanda’s ‘retirement journey,’ but she’s a part of our family forever!

Jamie’s Surrogacy Story

After delivering their son in July 2020, Jamie was so excited to embark on a sibling journey with her couple just one year later. On April 29, 2022 she had the extreme pleasure of making her surro-babe a big brother! Baby sister was born at 9:18pm, weighing a petite six pounds, one ounce. Both parents were able to witness her entrance into the world!

The best part of a journey is seeing your intended parents with their baby and Jamie had the unique opportunity to see her couple adapt to life as a family of four! We’re so grateful to have been a part of their journey and are overjoyed to have them all as BFI Family!
